“Are Hindus in Danger? Repeated Violence Raises Serious Concerns in Bangladesh”

Dhaka: Bangladesh has witnessed two disturbing incidents of mob violence targeting Hindu youths in recent weeks, raising serious concerns over law and order in the country.

In the first incident, 27-year-old Dipu Das was allegedly beaten to death and his body was later burnt in Mymensingh city on December 18. According to reports, the violence was triggered following allegations of blasphemy. The incident sparked widespread outrage and drew attention to the growing instances of mob attacks.

Reports said 29-year-old Amrit Mondal, also known as Samrat, was beaten to death in Bangladesh’s Rajbari district, in the Pangsha sub-district, around 11 pm. The location is approximately three-and-a-half hours from the capital, Dhaka.

Police officials said one person has been arrested in connection with the Rajbari incident, and weapons were recovered during the investigation. Authorities have stated that the second killing was not linked to communal violence and that further investigations are underway.
These back-to-back incidents have renewed concerns among minority communities in Bangladesh, while rights groups have called for strict action against those involved in mob violence and for stronger measures to ensure the safety of all citizens.
